“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.
You’ll learn self rescue, how to recognise and manage stress in other divers, emergency management and equipment, rescuing panicked divers, and rescuing unresponsive divers.
The fun part about this course is rising to challenges and mastering them. Most divers find this course both demanding and rewarding, and at the end, say it’s the best course they’ve ever taken.
What does it involve?
To enrol on this course you must be 12 years or older, have a PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organisation), hold a current First Aid and CPR qualification taken within the previous two years.
Once you have booked in with Immerse School of Diving you will need to complete a few forms and bring these to your first session – a Continuing Education Administrative Document; and a Medical Statement. Please ensure you read these in full before your session. If you answer “yes” to any question on the Medical Statement you will need medical clearance before you can dive – see our FAQs for further information.
Before your first PADI Rescue Diver session we will provide you with a PADI Rescue Diver crewpak which contains all the materials you will need for your course. We will also provide you with access to a copy of the PADI Rescue Diver DVD. You will need to read the relevant chapter of your manual and watch the relevant chapter of the video before each in-water session.
What is next?
Apply your new skills by joining in any Club Immerse activities at home or abroad to gain experience and make diving friends.
