The PADI Recompression Chamber Awareness Diver course has been written and developed by Immerse School of Diving, as a thorough introduction to the work of a hyperbaric facility.
This not-for-profit course is designed specifically to suport our local hyperbaric chamber, and to increase awareness of the work they conduct for our diving community.
Your Immerse School of Diving instructor shall familiarize you to the hyperbaric facilities available, possible treatments available, diving emergencies treated in hyperbaric facilities, the problems and hazards associated with a recompression chamber and treatment, and the procedures used.
Participants then experience a 50m “dry dive” in a hyperbaric chamber, where the chamber is compressed to an equivalent pressure to that which a diver would experience on a 50m scuba dive, before decompressing in the chamber on 100% oxygen. The dry dive allows divers to experience the effects pressurization, including of gas narcosis, in a controlled environment.
One of our most informative and fun PADI Specialty courses, if you’re a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) who is at least 18 years old, you can enrol in the PADI Recompression Chamber Awareness Diver Specialty course.
This is a full PADI Speciality, and counts towards your Master Scuba Diver qualification.
