What a great way to introduce children to scuba diving in a pool in less than six feet of water. Children get the chance to experience what scuba diving is like under the direct care and supervision of our team of Immerse School of Diving PADI Instructors, take their first breath underwater, and learn about and use scuba diving equipment made for children.
Sessions are held in our pool in Telford, Shropshire. Typical sessions last about an hour (sign up, gear up and fun included). Children should be comfortable in the water, but they don’t have to be super swimmers. We can even include Bubblemaker experiences in your pool party with family and friends.
What do I learn?
During the PADI Bubblemaker experience they will learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water in our pool, and get a quick and easy
introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater World. They will:
– Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it
– Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater and learn whether they can be comfortable there
– Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to their full scuba certification course when they take the next step
What does it involve?
The Bubblemaker session lasts approximately one hour, during which they will learn the basics that they need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. Your child does not need any prior experience to take part in the PADI Bubblemaker experience. They just need to be at least 8 years old, and in good health.
Once you have booked in with Immerse School of Diving you will need to complete a few forms and bring these to your pool session held in Telford, Shropshire – a Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding; a Liability Release and Assumption of Risk Agreement; and a Medical Statement. Please ensure you read these in full before your session. If you answer “yes” to any question on the Medical Statement your child will need medical clearance before you can dive – see our FAQs for further information.
On arrival we will introduce your child to any other participants who are joining their session, and conduct a short briefing so that they understand the basics of diving and the equipment they will be using. They will need your normal swimming equipment, a towel, and a t-shirt is advised.
What is next?
Once your child completes a PADI Bubblemaker program, you’ll want to check out the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification course which will teach your child everything they need to know to become a scuba diver.
