About Immerse School of Diving
Our professional instructional team are passionate about our way of teaching scuba diving here at Immerse School of Diving. Want to know what makes us different? Whether you are brand new to diving or a seasoned diver, the best way to appreciate what we are all about is to come for a pool or open water dive and get to know our staff and divers. Contact us to have a chat, or arrange to pop in to meet us all. You can also see what others say about us by reading our testimonials.
QUALITY LEARNING TIME: As a full time diving School, we have a large degree of flexibility and freedom to schedule training at a time and place to suit you. You can learn as part of a group, as a private class, or on a one to one basis - the choice is completely yours. If you choose to learn as part of a group then we keep group sizes small and intimate, splitting larger groups within our instructional team, to ensure that each student receives the attention that they deserve. We use a 25 metre heated pool for our confined water scuba training, and do not share our pool with other groups, so you have plenty of space in our underwater classroom! We give you much longer than the minimum number of hours on each course, giving you plenty of time to master what you are learning, and allowing you to learn at your own pace. We ensure that your training includes real diving experience, as well as completing assigned skills and tasks. If you need more time to crack a skill, then that's no problem - we'll make sure you have adequate time to become completely comfortable and confident.
FLEXIBLE LEARNING METHODS: We are passionate about making diving accessible to as many people as possible; and making training comfortable, effective and fun. We appreciate that every student is an individual. We flex our teaching methods to suit our students, using traditional resources such as manuals together with videos, online learning and one to one teaching sessions as necessary. Our team works regularly with children, has a dedicated youth outreach programme and runs the Georgia Williams Diving Scholarship to help more local young people become scuba divers. Our Instructors are specially trained in adaptive teaching methods, and can accommodate divers with differing personal requirements. Our Instructors are experienced in teaching those with learning disabilities such as autism and dyslexia, from beginners all the way to professional diving level.
HONEST EXPERT ADVICE & MENTORING: We're not here to sell courses or trips, we are here to teach diving. We will provide you with honest expert advice on how you can reach your personal diving goals. We are a multi-agency diving school, offering courses from a number of scuba diving agencies, so we can offer impartial advice on which course is best for your needs. We offer brand new divers the ability to try diving before they commit to a full certification course. We'll advise you on the best time to take courses to get maximum value from your training, which means that sometimes we'll advise you to wait to take a course until you have the experience to gain the most from that level of training. In other cases, we may recommend a course as the best way to meet your diving aims. We'll let you know which Club Immerse diving days or trips we think you'll enjoy the most, and which are most likely to help to build your experience and diving ability. Student divers can continue to gain value from the mentorship of our professional team through periodic course refreshers, Club Immerse pool sessions and diving days. Our professional level trainees have the opportunity to work alongside our Instructors with real students on real courses during their internships, and may continue to work with the School post qualification to gain professional level experience and continued support.
MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO DIVE: We help you to continue your diving. Club Immerse is an open, friendly and active dive club designed to help our students and club members dive more. We welcome divers from all agencies, backgrounds and experience levels. We do not tie you down with membership fees, and you are free to use the club facilities as much as you like. We offer a weekly club night for scuba divers to come and practice scuba skills with our professional staff, a weekly pool session for skin diving and snorkelling and swimming, club diving days throughout the year at least twice a month, regular diving trips at home and abroad, diving related events and talks, and of course a good few social nights. Allocation of places on our trips is prioritised to support our existing active club members, building a vibrant and active club run for its members. Our instructional team are on hand during all pool sessions, club dives and trips for any help and guidance you may need.
TRANSPARENT PRICING & ADDED VALUE: Prices for all of our for non-professional recreational diving courses are fully inclusive (including materials, certification fees, pool costs, site entrance fees, equipment hire, and air), provided that you complete your course in your assigned sessions. No hidden extras or nasty surprises. We offer package prices for course combinations, and discounts for returning customers (see the applicable course page for available discounts). We teach all of our entry-level students in dry suits from day one, and at no extra cost. Not only does this increase your comfort level and allow you to enjoy your open water training more, it increases the dive time that you have available on course to work with your Instructor, and also means that once you have qualified you can dive regardless of season or water temperature. Course graduates have access to continued support including free periodic course specific skill refresher sessions, advice and assistance in the area of training completed at no extra charge.
PROFESSIONALISM & SAFETY: We are a modern, up to date and fully insured professional diving School. Our staff are professional divers who are trained, qualified and experienced in the areas of diving that they teach - a dive professional will never be offended if you ask to see proof of their qualification to train you in a particular area. As well as the professional standards of the diving training agencies with whom we are affiliated, we are also governed by HSE laws developed specifically for diving operators. When you train or dive with Immerse School of Diving you will always have a trained safety diver in the water, and surface support trained in CPR and first aid (including oxygen administration) on the surface who has access to emergency equipment. We only use modern and up to date diving equipment and compressors, which have been tested and maintained in accordance with HSE requirements by our fully qualified service technician. Our dive technician has over twenty years of engineering experience, and in addition to a number of manufacturer's own certifications is one of only a handful of technicians within the UK qualified by the Association of Scuba Service Engineers and Technicians (ASSET) - the leading scuba engineer and technician training agency. We only use MCA coded vessels (or otherwise appropriately licensed vessels abroad) operated by qualified and insured professional skippers, with specialist knowledge of the relevant local waters and dive sites. We offer discounted dive insurance to our divers for their own personal dive insurance. We only dive at sites with appropriate permissions and consents, and do not access sites in a manner which would invalidate dive insurances or cause you to break the law. We do not allow our divers to endanger themselves or others, or invalidate insurances, including by diving outside the level of their qualifications or experience.
